My favorite Amazon move is when you order a CD and they send you one of those 'on demand' CD-R's, without advertising it as such. They MUST be losing money on that deal, as almost every single item gets sent back to them.

They are much better about it now, due to the complaints and returns, but there was a time when they were handing those things out like that was all there was ever gonna be...

They do advertise it as a CD-R, but the notice isn't as prominent as it needs to be.

Speaking of Orchid, I just ordered the Mouth of Madness 3 cd box that comes with Mouth of Madness, Wizard of War and Heretic cds, all in a cool box. only available at Amazon.de oddly enough. I think this is the only way to get Wizard of War on cd.

Granted, they are hard to find EPs, but I could see NB putting out an EP collection here at some point.

I ordered two copies of the box and shipping was 10,92 Euro to Canada. Not too shabby

I think that's very reasonable considering it includes shipping from overseas, the box is limited to 1000, and is the only way to own the Wizard of War ep on cd (so far). It works out to only $13+ each title

Thanks to the NWOBHM thread, I snagged these recently:

They are the Krescendo editions. They sound like they were mastered from vinyl. Can somebody confirm/deny this?

It doesn't bother me too much in this case, since I'd looked for these on and off for years, so I'm just happy to have them on CD. I'm just curious.

Thanks to the NWOBHM thread, I snagged these recently:

They are the Krescendo editions. They sound like they were mastered from vinyl. Can somebody confirm/deny this?

It doesn't bother me too much in this case, since I'd looked for these on and off for years, so I'm just happy to have them on CD. I'm just curious.

If they're on Krescendo they're either coming from vinyl or simply stolen from Majestic's earlier reissues (which I thought sounded just fine).

You should be careful - many of those amazing Amazon finds are current Azintex bootlegs.

These are the real thing. Matrix numbers are the same, and I used to own "Taking Over" on CD and the print on this one is identical, on both the disc and the booklet.

Like I said before, I love it when people screw up on Amazon...

They're not. Actually, it's hard to tell in the photo, but the booklets and tray cards are pretty beat up.

Pretty sure that Majestic Rock, Zoom Club and Krescendo are all the same dude or dudes. The Majestic Rock versions are from vinyl or badly aged tapes so i would assume Krescendo used the same masters.
