Recently Purchased Albums

I recently bought:

Disillusion - Back To Times Of Splendor 9/10
Dream Theater - Train Of Thought 9/10
Pain Of Salvation - The Perfect Element Pt.1 10/10
Orphaned Land - Mabool (can't rate yet, but surely 8/9)
Evergrey - The Inner Circle 8/10

I'll soon get Ayreon - The Human Equation and maybe Dead Soul Tribe - The January Tree

I always listen to 2-3 songs of the albums that I plan to buy for about 10 times or so and if they grow on me, I get the albums. Most bands put only one song onto their page, so I get others through filesharing to get a better impression of the album.

I think 1 song is ok for bands which got very catchy tunes, but it's kinda different with conceptual albums. Very hard to get an impression with only 1 song or only samples with 30 sec length.

Very cool by Pain Of Salvation that they put 4 whole length songs of The Perfect Element Pt.1 onto their page. I would never have bought this without these songs (say never never -> is there such a quote in english like "Sag niemals nie" in german?) and would have missed such a masterpiece!

I'd like to add to the WEAKLING praise here. Dead As Dreams is definitely one of the top 5 best bm albums I've ever heard. It's too bad they broke up. I love how trance-inducing it is, and how every time I listen to it I hear new things. Amazing album.

On a similar note, does anyone know if The Fucking Champs are any good?

Yeah, there's a certain musical genius about Dead as Dreams, which is fucking epic. While it might not end up in my top 5 of all time, it's probably the most "brilliant" album I've ever heard.

Last CD I bought... Blackwater Park, for AU $30, about 3 months ago ... Which shows how often I BUY music.
