I think Dougal Dixon had something to do with that show The Future Is Wild on animal planet a few months back. That was a cool show.

i saw a documetary like that with computer animated animals. it had tree squid, and the only mammal was a mouse being farmed by spiders. it might be the same thing ian was talking about.

anything by orson scott card, another vote for neil gaiman, and george r.r. martin, ursela k. le guin, and i like "a series of unfortunate events" by lemony snicket.
so i guess thats more like five cents, sorry i lied.

Bushwacked: Life in George Bush's America, by molly ivins, and Should America Pay: Slavery and the Raging Debate on Reparations

and almost anything by Bill Bryson, except his latest book.

the only Stanislaw Lem I've read is "the Chain of Chance", and it was pretty good.

so is that "Should America Pay" book like one page long?

nah it's actually a collection of essays from various points of view. its a topic that has interested me for a variety of reasons, but mainly because it really stirs up meatheads of all persuasions.

and where do you draw the line? should Angles and Saxons in england be recompensed for their trauma during the norman invasion?
