what if all you folks send me CD's of all the bands you posted here cuz most european viking/folk etc. bands Cd's are not available here in sunny california for example cruachan, i was itchin to hear them, looked everywhere for the album but nothin'

You won't find shit here in the states. You may be able to find some Amon Amarth and Enslaved but very little of anything else. You need to find some good mail order companies: http://www.redstream.org/ http://blackmetal.com/ http://www.metaldisc.com/ http://www.centurymedia.com/ http://www.theendrecords.com/ Ebay is always a good place too - Just make sure you check out positive feedback percentage before you buy/bid.

no problem, hope I can help. I also should rephrase what I said earlier. When I said you wouldn't find shit in the states, I meant from record stores. All the companies I listed are located in the states.

Forget theendrecords (altough they have a real good choice) or centurymedia .... and stop saying you won't/can't find shit in the US, it is total non-sense. If you need underground stuff, don't go look at bestbuy,... unless you want the mainstream metalbalde bs and the likes.

Like maddog pointed out, check redstream and even more stores that only serve the underground such as god is a myth record, dark horizons, chicago metalhaven, elegyrecords, regimental records and many many more US distros.

Btw, I found Cruachan here in the US ... all 4 of their cd's are available. Ordering from Europe is also a very good choice since more and more labels accept paypal and unlike some might think, most small distros are not in business to steal fans money. Once you establish a good relation with the distro guy, you can even have him order special stuff for you or have him help you locate it.

I went to death metal fest last sunday and there were people selling cd's. they had a good collection. I bought a Borknagar cd.

but Turisas...really, their music is ok, but their live shows...they're dressed in fur and hopping around the stage. At one point they did a medley and I think I heard them play the lambada at a certain moment. if you don't expect something serious, then you can enjoy yourself.
