recommendation: ashes against the fuckin grain

Ordered.

That's a good idea, but why not limit it to one? What use has one person for two copies of the same vinyl?

One to play regularly and one to keep unplayed (to sell in the future maybe), I guess.

EDIT: Or to eBay one immediately when stock runs out.

ordered my clear orange one...they're out of the splatter :bah:

he got himself banned because he was totally gay for this forum and couldn't restrain himself! plus he was a total prick. you take your pick!

or something.

Ugh…these discussions are normally none of my business but I think I should clarify a couple things straight from “the horses mouth” so to say.

1. Limiting the Ashes LPs to 1000 was not an “elitist” move by any means. Vinyl is expensive to manufacture and the people who buy it are generally weird record collector freaks like me. There are some exceptions, like, for instance Thomas from Saturnus who told me that the vinyl version is always his first choice. But overall, vinyl is not the most popular format so it is not feasible to make it unlimited like the CD. Andreas gave me the option for different colors so of course I ran with it. This is nothing new so I don’t know why people are bitching about it. Why then do we have super limited stuff that comes in wooden sleeves and boxes? Because I am a freak and when given the opportunity to release a record or CD in a cool package, I am all for it. Maybe our next album will have an edition that will get released in a cave on the Oregon coast somewhere.

...hmmm….

2. Solstafir means in Icelandic something like “the rays of the sun through dense clouds”.

Ok then? Ok. Carry on people…

Hey come on man, nobody's bitching. Not much anyway. Apart from this maybe...

i refuse to take place in this lame elitsit bullshit anymore. limiting all of your releases like that is just retarded.

Believe me, when Noltem's next release comes out, it'll be 100 copies on 8 track only and then you can have a laugh at Maximillian.

Well I think Ebay has made this kind of stuff a rather sensitive issue with some people. To a degree I can understand it. I mean, it sucks when some asshole buys 40 copies of a limited item only to sell it off slowly for outrageous prices on Ebay. Some guy in Germany was doing this with LJDLP vinyls a few years ago.

As for Noltem... I won't laugh. I will be one of the 100 people who buys it.

dude, i have one tape release that i paid for out of my pocket.

i also don't see how selling any of my collectibles has anything to do with anything (just for the record). i'm just saying that people will buy anything if you give it a limited release and neat-looking cover.

thanks for also taking the time to find a bunch of my old threads, man

If you can't take it, don't dish it.

Dark One makes a good point here, Max.

Bitch about limited releases and then finance your tuition and recording expenses by selling off some of yours? I know this wasn't your intention when you bought these releases, but in the end, the demand you're complaining about helped you out quite a bit didn't it?
