Recording while drunk is always better

A couple beers while running a reamping session: excellent. Adding automation and doing drum editing drunk: fucking terrible.

It would be awesome to do a whole album (writing, performing, recording, mixing, mastering and handling the duplication and releasing) while insanely drunk. Then you could add a label on the jewelcase saying "I HAVE NEVER HEARD THIS ALBUM SOBER MYSELF, SO THIS MIGHT BE UTTER SHIT" and grant yourself the permission to read the reviews and listen to the album after ten years have passed.

Where did I put that Scotch?

i'm seriously going to write a song while drunk, release it as a cd single on itunes and amazon the same day and listen it sober after one month.

best idea ever.

I know the feeling. The huge bald guy below our flat in the last building we lived in didn't agree, though. It was only four in the morning. Some people... No appreciation for art.

Haha! I love that!

I did a lot of recording on my bands last EP while under the influence of a lot of alcohol. I only remember parts of it because of the video evidence. The drunk guitar solo probably turned out better than I could've played it sober.

I also did some of the vocals while half asleep. I got picked up off the couch, thrown in the vocal booth, a set of cans over my head and instructed to sing. I think I got about 3 lines in the whole song right.

Generally don't mind people drinking when they're in. As long as they don't turn up drunk or get totally fucked up when they're supposed to be tracking. A few beers to relax with is totally fine with me though :)
