Anyone ever seen/heard of this?

Dual Rectifier Mod

It's a kit to replace the solid state rectifiers in an amp and replace them with real tube rectifiers. Somewhere on that site it says that the mod was performed succesfully on a 5150....

Just curious as to what a 5150 'Dual Rectifier' would sound like...

Edit- This link has a bit more info...

It really doesn't sound that hard to do, I'm just wondering if its worth the time.... Does a tube rectifier sound that much different from a solid-state rectifier?

rectifier tubes are very unstable and where almost all replaced by solid state or "Diode" rectifiers in EVERY amp out there even your older vintage fenders and marshalls dropped the tube rectifier in thier circuit designs way early in thier amp time lines. I think in the mesa rectifiers they make the switching ahve a very pronounce effect in the amps tone so you feel like you are getting your moneys worth for the dual rec idea. again I would tell you not to waste your time/money on somthing that is not really an enhancment.
