Does a 5150 typically have more low end compared to a Dual Rectifier? Plugging into each amp side by side, I get more low end oomph out of the 5150. It makes me wonder if the Mesa needs new tubes, or if this is just part of the normal difference between amps.

Played into the same cab, I find the Mesa to have a much bigger low end. Now, the 5150 may be tighter in the low end, so it may be more defined, but the Recs have a lot of bottom to them. Most likely the power tubes are kind of worn.

Yeah, jesus, Rectifiers are the bassiest metal amps in creation, there had to have been something wrong (perhaps in the tweaking...)
