I think Burnt Offerings is their most consistent album.
Horror Show is also pretty consistent, but it isn't as good as Burnt Offerings.
The Glorious Burden is as consistent as Horror Show, but is better overall.
Horror Show
Wolf - 8/10 - good opener and cool rocker
Damien - 8/10 - very cool but too long. Almost a classic.
Jack - 7.5/10 - good fast aggressive rocker
Ghost of Freedom - 7.5/10 - good ballad that would be better if it was on TGB instead of Hollow Man. Matt sounds good.
Im-Ho-Tep - 6/10 - cool music that doesn't really go anywhere.
Jekyll & Hyde - 8/10 - a grower with clever structure.
Dragon's Curse - 8/10 - just a good round song really.
Frankenstein - 9/10 - awesome rocker in a different style to IE's norm. Great lyrics, vocals and riffing.
Dracula - 5/10 - I don't get what people like about this, it isn't bad, but it does NOTHING for me.
The Phantom Opera Ghost - 10/10 - Iced Earth classic. Jon at his epic best. Awesome vocals from both singers and very cool structures. Brilliant.
Average - 7.7/10
The Glorious Burden
The Star Spangled Banner/Declaration Day - 8/10 - strong opener and mood setter.
When The Eagle Cries - 4/10 - has some redeeming qualities I guess, but I really dislike it.
The Reckoning - 9/10 - Excellent ball grabbing rocker. Almost a 10/10 if it wasn't for the repetitive chorus.
Greenface - 7.5/10 - good rocker with excellent vicious vocals but let down by the lyrics.
Attila - 8.5/10 - this one still hasn't sunk right in yet, but I really like it. Great track all around.
Red Baron/Blue Max - 9/10 - awesome vocals and guitar work, very aggro, another almost 10/10, but still a classic.
Hollow Man - 6.5/10 - Not a bad song for what it is, but it is no Melancholy, I Died For You, Watching Over Me, Ghost Of Freedom, etc, and is mediocre in comparison.
Valley Forge - 7.5/10 - Good alrounder that doesn't do a hell of alot, but is good for what it is.
Waterloo - 7.5 - same as Valley Forge really. Just as enjoyable.
The Devil To Pay - 9.5/10 - excellent start to the epic, awesome use of orchestra, great build up. Classic.
Hold At All Costs - 10/10 - the emotion at the start of this song is second to none. Bone chilling stuff. It then launches into an awesome anthem. Classic.
High Water Mark - 10/10 - clever songwriting builds this song into an awesome climax with more intense emotion with Armistead's speech and Ripper's brilliant vocals, making the character of Lee sound almost as if his realization of failure has drove him to the brink of insanity. Classic.
Average - 8.08
That was interesting. I still see HS as more consistent lol.
