Releases 2009!

The new Alice In Chains is absolutely incredible! What a god damn trip this beast is. It goes from being absolutely crushingly heavy, doomy, and derranged to classic dirty grunge to psychedelic. I go from sinking my teeth into some tasty riff to drifting off into space on some ethereal melody (sometimes doing both at the same time). The songwriting is genius and the vocal harmonies sound like mournful cries from beyond the grave. Fuck the hate, fuck the kids who think they couldn't do it without Layne. This shit rules. AOTY. Sorry Neige.
just uh 'somehow acquired' it after reading this post earlier.....eh its ok. the heavy songs are pretty awesome (all 4.5 or so :zombie:) but the other ones didnt grab be as much, i'll give it some mo spins later. my two favorite so far are the two they released early. i hate it when that happens.

haha yeah that shit makes me sad when it happens to me too. Idk though, I think there's only one mediocre song on the CD and that's "Last Of My Kind" which has too much of an "Enter Sandman" vibe for me to get into. Otherwise, shit pwns.

The new Paradise Lost is also excellent. PL is definitely one of the most consistently awesome bands in metal and belongs to a small elite group of bands (Dark Tranq, Amorphis, SymX, Rotting Christ, Enslaved, Katatonia, Moonspell, Opeth, Nevermore, PL) who can pull this shit off after so many years of making music.

Every day that I wake up and see no Skyfire on the RSS feeds of blogs it makes me find the closest seal and fuck it to death. What the hell is this? It's been out for multiple days how the hell do I obtain it?

No offense Don, but the fact that you keep bitching about it is getting annoying. I'm just as puzzled as you are that it hasn't leaked yet. I'd say give it another week!

I think its pretty great it hasn't leaked myself, Esoteric is one of my most anticipated releases of the last 4 years. As with most of my favorite bands I am waiting for the physical disc to be in my hands to run it, just out of respect I suppose. To say I would be tempted to download it though would be an understatement, it makes it easier seeing how its not possible. :Saint:

Haha, Yes sir! Pretty syked about this one! Listening to it for the second time now. I can tell its going to be an album that gets better with time, Kinda like Virus did for me. Pretty brootal :kickass:

Yeah Peter Tagtren (spelling?) is a fucking madman. What an album this is. I was thinking today, what if Peter and Dan Swano made an album together? I would probably get all gay with some dude to hear that.

Even though neither of them did any actual writing since Anders and Jonas pretty much write the music and lyrics for BB, shit was still magically delicious.

I would go in this order for absolutely no fucking reason: The Final Chapter, Hypocrisy, Abducted, Virus, A Taste of Extreme Divinity, then whatever. TFC is def my favorite, but a lot of people consider Abducted/Self Titled the milestone of the band's career. You can't go wrong really, just don't start with Catch 22/Arrival. Not indicative of the legendary songwriting the band is known for.

Hah... funny you say that, The Arrival is my personal favorite and the first album I heard by them.

BUT, my opinion of them is different from most their fans. I don't really like The Final Chapter, Abducted, The Fourth Dimension, Into The Abyss or the first version of Catch 22. They do all have some absolutely fantastic tracks though. Adjusting The Sun may be my all time favorite song of theirs... Just never go into those albums as a whole

Heh... I did start with Catch 22 and Arrival, which didn't encourage me to get any more, and I've always considered them vastly overrated and haven't listened in years. Maybe I should try again.

I shall heed your advice, master.
