Releases 2009!

Heh... I did start with Catch 22 and Arrival, which didn't encourage me to get any more, and I've always considered them vastly overrated and haven't listened in years. Maybe I should try again.

Yeah you definitely should. I kind of like Arrival, and the rerecorded Catch 22 is tolerable, but their other albums are just on a different level. Just get their new one and revel in the glory.

Aye, after multiple listens of it I am definitely digging the shit out of it.

If I were to order my favorite Hypocrisy albums it would probably be like
The Arrival/Virus... (Possibly the new one also tied)
Hypocrisy
Catch 22 v2
All others...

I knew the Hypocrisy album was gonna be good from the start cuz a friend of mine got to hear shit as it was being recorded and told me it sounded like The Final Chapter era shit and that assessment is pretty on par. Great album, BUT the song titles are pretty fucking awful.

New Immortal also leaked, which I had heard awesome things about (supposed to be more black metal oriented than Sons Of Northern Darkness, etc), but I'm saving it for the weekend.

Jesus tits I want the new Whiplash to be out. Between Skyfire and Whiplash I kind of want to freeze myself for a little while, and then thaw out when they're out. But I'll probably end up too far in the future where an advanced otter race wants to eat my entrails on their tummies.

Whiplash is one of these overhyped reunion bands that I don't get now but will probably jock the shit out of in a few months haha...

New Immortal rips. Reminds me of Sons of Northern Darkness putting the long wood in At the Heart of Winter and out pops All Shall Fall. Very cool.

@ Aeonic - Now what the hell's wrong with the title "Hang Him High"??? Fucking awesome!

Valley Of The Damned - lol Dragonforce

Sky's Falling Down - lol wut? *cringe*

The Quest - Seriously is this a power metal album?!?!?!

Album title - retarded.

I have no qualms with saying that Dragonforce's first 3 albums are among the few power metal albums that I listen to. They perfected the craft at making catchy shit. Last album sucked.

Seems like their last album was "video game super power flower/speed metal". Definitely not as good as their first 3. Anyone dig in to the new Scar Symmetry? I don't have the balls to for fear of immense disappointment/softness of penis.

Someone on Blabbermouth likened a song to Mindless Self Indulgence and I was like "WTF?!" Then I listened to said song and holy shit... it does sound like MSI...:zombie:

The song is Mechanical Soul Cybernetics. I usually love shit like this but when it comes from Scar Symmetry it's just weird in a very bad way.

I will check the Scar Symmetry album out probably in January after I'm done furiously masturbating to these other lovely albums that are out/coming out. I know its not going to be anything above average, so it will only seem worse listening to it after a glorious album, yeh know?

Anyway umm..
The album Eufori by Apati would probably be amazing to me, had I never heard Lifelover. Its still good though.

And I'm sure nobody on here enjoys Nargaroth but the new album is fantastic, and probably my favorite of the year... Really wasn't expecting it.

I was afraid the departure of Christian would kill the band but I have to say their new album is growing on me dangerously and may become my favorite SS album!

Hello all I've been away for the weekend. Girlfriend of nearly 4 years flew in from Colorado, had a grand ol' time. Seems like everyone is enjoying all the new awesome stuff. But alas, tonight I venture deep into a dark territory. Arch Enemy - The Root of all Evil. I have a bucket next to me to catch the stream of tears I will so surely conjure.

edit: what a lifeless place this is... Good lord.

So I checked out Gorgoroth's new album, "Hard to pronounce latin BS", and it was surprisingly kickass. Maybe it's just because I like some nice melodies and some cool riffs no matter what the genre, but I think Infernus just flat out writes better songs than King ov Ass and big homosexual who quit metal. It's full of really drawn out epic moments and has a lot of groove and melody (for Gorgoroth). Anyone listen to it?

Horse the Band's new release, "Desperate Living", is as solid as ever. "Horse the Song" is especially entertaining. Their singer actually does some real, straight-up singing occasionally - Science Police being an example.
