Romance is what you make of it. I tend to take my wife into NYC for her birthdays as she likes spending some time in the city and we get to get away from the house, stay in a nice hotel like the Westin (we've stayed there the past two years), go out to a nice restaurant, maybe see a show or a band at BB Kings. Her birthday is in late September and so is our anniversary so it tends to work for both of us I'm trying to get her to agree to go down the weekend of the 27th (our anniversary) so we can go see Accept and Kings X at BB Kings - maybe not the most romantic of bands, but it works for me
