Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone has detailed infos on Michael's axe.
I know it's a custom Caparison Dellinger II, bolt-on neck joint, a mahogany body, hard maple neck and maple fretboard, Floyd bridge. DiMarzio Tone Zone at the neck and a X2N for the bridge. 25.5 scale length (not sure) with 24 frets.
This is all the info I have, hope it's correct.
I'd like to know the exact neck radius and the frets type if someone has more detailed information. Thanks!

That's way cool, thanks.
Stupid me, I've been messing with the search engine for half an hour but overlooked this thread.
Anyway. Has someone a rough idea of what this sort of modded Dellinger would cost? I've heard that Caparisons don't sell for cheap...

You cant get customs unless you're endorsed...and you can't get endorsed because their roster is full.
What, don't they have a separate custom department like say Fender or ESP or Jackson? With a waiting list and big extra $$$ of course.
Cause, I'm not nearly good or famous enough to get an endorsement...

With that kind of headstock? Hmm, no. I don't think so. That was (and is) the coolest thing about Caparison.

Caparison don't need any more endorsees, and their standard guitars are so good, that the only real 'custom' part is the paint job... I've got a Horus- Black Night/Go on order, should arrive this week... :D
You're sure lucky, should be a piece of cake.
But for instance, say I'd like to have a maple neck and board like Romeo's Dellinger II, I don't see such a guitar in their list (ebony boards mainly)... wouldn't they do that? :hypno:

Caparison is slow enough at building guitars. They don't need a custom shop and another line to build. They're not huge like Ibanez. I too wish they did, just to get one with a maple board.

They don't do maple boards for some reason, except on endorsee guitars. One of my few gripes about Caps. Most of their boards are Rosewood. You can find them relatively cheap. I paid $1000 USD for my discontinued Applehorn Aurora, which also has an ebony board. It's definately a player guitar, but it sure sounds sweet!

I absolutely HATE rosewood fretboards. I just cant stand them. I dont know why. I dont like the feeling under my fingers as well. They need to make his dellinger a standard though.

Its a simple model which would sell like crazy because of its beauty and simplicity. I would get one ASAP. Its just odd because so many folks prefer maple fretboards, yet they dont make em standard.

Where has everyone had the opportunity to try these guitars?...I've never even seen one in person except in Romeo's hands on stage.

I took a risk in buying before trying (E-Bay) but the price was low enough that I figured I could turn it around and get most of my money back, if I didn't care for it. It has an awesome neck that is tapered, and quite comortable to play. I can't compare it to anything else out there, because it is fairly unique.

There are VERY few Caparison authorized dealers, usually only one per country, IIRC. In the US, the only authorized dealer is Guitar Asylum in NY. There are a few of them on E-bay from time to time.

I prefer the look of a maple fretboard for sure, but overall feel doesn't really matter to me as my fingers never really touch the fretboard at all due to my love for jumbo frets.

we're lucky here in South Australia, because the dealer for the whole of Oceania (bmusic) is located down here... :D
