* The Chasm, Varathron, Pestilence (and arguably Manowar and Velvet Cacoon) really don't deserve to make the low 10, they were just up against exceptionally strong competition (or noone's heard them!)

* "Reign in Blood" didn't even make the top 10, but "Autumn Aurora", an album from last year, did.

I like how the timeless classic "Battlefields" is up there with "Bergtatt", "Pure Holocaust", "In The Nightside Eclipse" etc This list obviously doesn't represent my taste at all, but then again I'm one of the "odd men out" of the RC regulars. I'm satisfied with the fact that "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" and "Transilvanian Hunger" did this well.

I own 55 of the top 64. I'd say that's consistent with the entire list -- I own 90% of it. For those albums I didn't own, I simply didn't vote.

Erik - If you voted against Rust in Peace based on never having heard it, no soup for you, you homeless vunt. At minimum, that should have been a tie with Drudkh then. Still, #8 in the top 10, can't complain can't complain.

Interesting points:

- Opeth was at #72
- I agree, for those bands that didn't score well, you people should just NOT have voted. Drudkh rears its ugly head again having beaten Pagan Altar by 20 votes.
- "Autumn Aurora" absolutely should NOT be in the top 10 list

Otherwise, might fine list either way, and a very cool top 10!

Finnish overrated-as-feck (in ANUS- and GMD-circles) grim black metal band. "Drawing Down The Moon" has got about two good songs. I believe that they also made some electronica/ambient record that's supposed to be pretty good if you're into that sort of stuff.

If "Autumn Aurora" was a few places down, "Blood Fire Death" would have been in the top 10 and I would have been really satisfied with it overall.

Anyway, the difference between #7 and #8 spot in the top 128 is pretty fucken meaningless. Like I say, the top 10 is pretty cool, but "Autumn Aurora" is ridiculously overrated on this forum, I totally concede to that.

What's even more interesting is that Drudkh are already on the downward slope with "The Swan Road", which is quite possibly the disappointment of the year.

Beherit!?!? That's a name I don't think I've ever come across.

Beherit is scary-ass down-tuned, almost deathy, minimalistic, warm and lush black metal (warm and lush as a fetid, festering swamp of pestilent disease, that is.) "Drawing Down the Moon" is considered one of THE black metal classics in most circles. I feel it's a bit overrated, but a good and really unique album.
