Sabaton opening for Overkill in NYC

it seems that overkill will make their own tour aside the accept tour! Or maybe only 2 specials shows??

HOLY SHIT I AM THERE HOLY SHIT WEDNESDAY HOLY SHIT TAKING THURSDAY OFF HOLY SHIT SABATON AND ACCEPT and Overkill yaaaay... HOLY SHIT!!!

The tour with Sabaton is going from San Fran -> San Diego -> Santa Ana -> Ventura?

Who the fuck set up this assineing tour schedule? That's not even feasable for a road trip, it's just stupid. More pissed because there's no Phoenix date, so I have to go to San Diego. Glad their coming but ULTIMATE facepalm with scheduling. RAAAGE.

no Mass date (yet), but I might be able to swing Michigan

As Tommy said, they have an open date on the Friday of the NE Hardcore and Metal Fest. If they get added and depending on the rest of the bill, that might be a good Friday show.

Sadly that probably means Sabaton's already likely only 30-40 min set would be cut down to even less.

This is not a good idea.....this package definetly needs a stronger headliner. Each band has a fanbase but not one to fill some of those places. Too bad OVERKILL isnt on the rest of the dates. I still am excited but like it was stated many times on this thread.....they still need a bigger name to headline in the states.

I've seen tours do Southern California dates in a geographically illogical order like that before, where they come down to San Diego straight from San Francisco and then go back up to OC/LA. It's not very common to see a tour routed like that, but it's only a couple hours of doubling back.

The more surprising thing to me is that they're playing 3 Southern California dates without one of them being in West Hollywood. San Diego can get a decent crowd (especially if it's advertised in TJ and people cross the border for it) and the Santa Ana show will draw from both OC and LA, but I'd be curious to know how the Ventura show is going to do.

Three dates in So-Cal? That's ridiculous, two I could see but three is unnecessary. Like I said before, SLC but no Phoenix? WTF??

I hold the NE M&HC fest in very low regard for that reason. It's the sardine can of festivals. 20-30 minute sets, way too many bands, no re-entry for the venue, and no exclusivity - the fest is just a big criss crossing of tours. 90% of any lineup is bands that you could see ten other times during the year.

But, I think what you say is pretty likely and would probably benefit the bands themselves in terms of getting them in front of a bigger audience. It would also give the fest itself a slight credibility boost IMO since the lineups usually include very few heavy metal/traditional bands.

That's what the local bands are for! Hurray for pre-sale tix! XD

what to come late to? Seriously....it is very rare where local acts actually really help out packing the place. I have seen some local acts draw freinds and family then those people leave right after and then leaving the place a tad more empty. I still have not gone to a show and I go to lots where the locals help draw any sort of crowd. Sorry to come off old and jaded but these are the facts the I experienced.
