Saddam Execution Video...Graphic

Your lies never end, do they? I do not believe you are an American and I do not believe you live in NYC. Hasn't it occurred to you that nobody here agrees with you or wants you here? Go spew your ignorance somewhere else. You are not wanted.

Did I say I'm an American? I'm not. I'm Chilean, I've lived in Europe and now the U.S. Currently spending holidays in Chile. But I spent the last three months in NYC and two relatives of mine were among the victims of the terrorist attacks. I don't agree with Osama as I don't agree with Bush foreign policies either. Actually I don't agree with most of the foreign policies carried by the U.S. government throughout the last 50 or 60 years. That's not only me. I've talked to a lot of Americans, fellow countrymen of yours, and most of them seem to agree Bush isn't good for the United States, neither the world. On the other hand, most of them simply ignore what previous presidents and U.S. authorities did to the countries I mentioned before.

Vietnam, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Afghanistan, Iraq, Japan, Korea, where else are you sending your troops? You're not only killing foreigners, as there are a lot of young Americans dying in all those wars. The survivors will soon be veterans and will come to tell the truth ONCE AGAIN in some few years. It has been told by many veterans already.

I see that your government and media have been using spin control and propaganda to shape popular opinion and guide the nation toward a specific political agenda. They don't even allow some information to reach Americans.

There are so many books telling a different story:

Amazon.com: A People's History of the United States: 1492 to Present: Books: Howard Zinn

Amazon.com: The Politics of Heroin: CIA Complicity in the Global Drug Trade: Books: Alfred W. McCoy -> great book, one of my favorites.

When News Lies by Danny Schechter is another great book.

See? It doesn't make any difference to you. You're not going to read any of those books. You have already made up your mind. You even have some fans on this board supporting your statements, because they can't think of anything else besides what's on CNN or The New York Times, and because they think it's funny to slam a foreigner that doesn't think like them. That's the American way. No problem at all. You've been successfully living with it, go ahead.

I won't change you... you won't change me.

I just don't get it...Osama is the one who attacked us. Why in the hell did Bush decide to get Saddam instead?

We attacked Afghanistan first and are still there.... He didn't go after Saddam instead.. I do however would have been more satisfied with catching Osama.

What a fucked up world we live in when kids are trying shit like this.

Is it just me or is there something wrong when an adult allows a child to watch an execution like that? I mean really. One of the men said, why show the execution on TV? How about - change the fucking channel when you have kids in the room you jackasses.

I had the exact same thought when I read it.
I couldnt even watch it myself let alone watch it with a kid in the room.

Next thing they will be trying to bring a lawsuit against the TV company for showing it.

I like americans. Yeah some of their policies suck, but don't alot of countries'?

The thing that annoyed me at the time of 11/9, was this whole declaration of war on terror, when various people/institutions in the states were soooo supportive of the IRA prior to this. It irked a few people in my country, that place being England.

Just my two-penneth worth. A controversial topic, to say the least!

Thank you for understanding that you can disagree with a countries political agenda and not hate the people. Some people still don't get that.

I don't believe parents and relatives have complete control over their kids' activities. That's just impossible. You can't avoid them watching TV, listening to the radio, connecting to the Internet, playing around, all at the same time.

You can't avoid them getting to the boards of their favorite bands and reading a thread with a link to the video of the execution. Maybe if we had in mind that those kids are OUR kids too instead of THEIR parents kids, things could have been much different. But we don't even care about children and the youth in general. We just get aware of how dangerous some stupid things like this video can be when we read the news or when we have people close to us affected by that. Otherwise, it's just sick adult entertainment (it's hard to believe there's worse entertainment out there).

This thread is a fine example of what I'm saying.

You're right. It keeps getting harder. It seems like there are more and more ways to expose shit to kids every time you turn around. I guess that means parents should be stepping in and at least trying to know thier kids.

A lot of it has to do with the child him/herself. My parents were pretty hands-off with me growing up. They taught me right from wrong and left the rest up to me. They never checked the lyrics of my Slayer records and I never sacrificed any neigborhood cats. If I had gone and killed myself by immitating something I saw on TV, my parents would surely be upset. At the same time, I am certain that deep down inside they would both be thinking to themselves. "My kid was a retard." There are certain things that parents can protect their children from. Their child's own stupidity is often not one of them.

Somebody take note...

painergrey...to a certain degree...I agree with you (damn that hurt! )

It is difficult, if not impossible to monitor your childrens behavior 24 hours a day. However, I really don't think most parents these days even try at all. I really believe that if people would spend just a little more time with their children, the whole world would be better off. There's no way my parents would have let me see that video when I was 10 years old. They would have found a way to stop me. If they had to call every parent of every friend I had to tell them to make sure that if I was at their house, to make sure I didn't see the video.
