anyone using this setup? I installed the mix control shit from them, but something just doesn't seem right. suggestions?

LOL, yeah you might want to get a little more in-detail here man. Something about the mix control window bothering you? Hardware acting up? What's up?

sorry i was in a rush earlier when i posted this. i installed everything. used to legacy fw driver like that said to. but i cant get buffer settings to go lower than 256. my computer is plenty fast to handle it. and do you really have to restart pro tools everytime you change your buffer size?

I assume you mean that you can't set the latency below 256 in your PT preferences? If that is the case, pull up the Saffire Mix Control window. Near the bottom right hand corner is a button marked Settings... where you can change your Firewire Driver Latency. It might be set to Long as default. My guess would be to shorten that, then restart PT and check PT's preferences again for lower latency settings.

ok ill try it out. the only way i could get it to go lower was to also install asio4all but it just crackled alot.

Well, let me say out right, if you're on a PC, you pretty much HAVE TO use the ASIO drivers. Guru777 can be more specific, as I am a MAC guy. But I know I've seen people have problems until they just bite down and use the ASIO's.

The drivers are Asio Saffire, not Asio4All.
I run Pro 40 under Win7 64bit, Set firewire latency to short and you can go down to 64 buffer size if you'd like (Settings accessible trough Focusrite MixControl)

ok i changed the fw latency settings to short and the latency problem is fixed! thank you guys
