Salvaging crap tone: a challenge for you

I said it was crap tone!
I'll post a raw mix of a song after I record it today. The guitarist's going to bring along some Digitech pedal so hopefully it'll sound slightly better.

Wait until you hear the drums, though.
The drummer recorded them beforehand on one track, I vomited when I heard them.

It's the recording and the playing that are crappy. I could actually see the TONE being used for a cool low gain kind of thing for effect. The part that is the problem is everything else.
 
Recording was pretty good today, as good as we high school amateurs can make it.
The guitarist ended up using his pedal and recording from the amp direct, which sounds passable.

Now the only problem is the drums...
