Sampling famous drums.....how do I do it??

Is it really a good thing to take drum hits from mastered recordings?.. i mean those samples are already eq/compressed etc... or am i wrong?..

thats why i wouldnt even bother doing it

i just make my own samples from the ground up

and then i mix them and render them to files per velocity hit

i do like 4 groups of 4 hits, so 16 hits per drum

then i just put into drumagog and render that to a track, no inserts needed after import. just eq.

I don't know if I still have it. It was just a rehersal room recording from six years ago or so. I can check, though.

usually they don't marry well if from different sources. I tried to do a song once with a snare from captain beyond and bass drum from confessor. I loved how they both sounded, but not together. :Smug:
