Slow process indeed, in fact, I think it's more likely that our planet will destabilize as a result of the moon's increased distance. you see, the only reason Earth is revolving nicely around it's ax is because the moon is keeping it in place, but because of the moon's own speed it's slowly slingshotting away from us.
When that happens, we're all dead.

I've always notice that people from the US are the ones who deny global warming the most. Why? Simply because:
a) They're ignoramuses (this is the most common one)
b) They don't believe in global warming because "god" does not allow it.
c) They don't know they're the ones who contribute to it the most.
d) They don't give a fuck.

The funny thing is that most people that don't "believe" in global warming are either old or stupid, because all of my students at the Uni agree that global warming is a real threat. My Uni has a waste control plant and divides the garbage between paper, bottles and garbage, which is quite good

For the record, I'm atheist, used to believe in global warning, Al-Gore is the carbon footprint king, I'm well educated on both arguments, and I'm not Republican.

Even though hurricanes were suppose to become more frequent and they didn't, that theory is a fact, right?
You didn't make one point in that argument, you just called me an ignorant, Christian, Hummer driving, Republican... none of which is even true. There's proof that people have nothing to do with global warming, maybe you should look into it so that way you don't come into a debate with only Al Gore propaganda (most of which is false).

Nah, and some things about the Al Gore's documentary aren't true (like one of the thing he said of some mosquitoes, I forgot what it was about), but I think he still has quite strong points.

How can we save the planet when we cannot save ourselves. Generally speaking, humans are out for themselves and always will be. Some choose to dedicate their lives to learning about and saving other species and others think broader. I know I feel powerless when every day I think of the atrocities that go on minute by minute on this planet.

This heat wave in Florida is killing me! Damn global warming and man made disasters! Katrina was caused by evil Republicans! So was that tsunami that killed 100,000 people! None of these natural occurrences have ever happened before!! Look at all the hurri...oh wait nevermind..
Give me a break, get your heads out of your asses and do some research. Man won't do anything worse to the planet than what the planet can do to itself. I think it is a safe bet to say that when earth gets tired of people fucking around with it, it will take itself back (read ice age).
The only good thing to come from the global warming myth is that people actually do some decent things such as recycle, drive less, waste/burn less fuel, and overall not be pigs.
Stop worrying about global warming and work on things like dragging yourselves out of poverty, or helping someone in need. Fucking stupid causes that people attach themselves too, that's why the world is fucked.

I really think it is a mix of both man and nature. We haven't been on this earth long enough to understand some of the things that happen. The global climate change could simply be a natural cycle, but made worse due to the greenhouse gases man has placed in the atmosphere.
