Saxon Reccomendations

If your local store doesn't have any,try www.amazon.com.Get 'Wheels of Steel' as a starter, then maybe 'Unleash the Beast' or 'Metalhead'.If you ain't got their latest 'Lionheart',its a must. This gives you a taste of the old and later Saxon. There are many others, but these are a few to start.

I recommend you:
a. buy what you can, then perhaps invite some mates round to fill in the gaps in the discography.
b. set up a nice big stack of Turbosound Floodlight or Nexo Alpha, fat enough to part your hair
c. then, crack open a few drinkies and sit back for a day or so and absorb the booze and the Saxon story.
d. Come back and tell us what a fucking cool weekend you have had.

I would (and do!!!) My neighbours love it (probably)

I would highly recommend two of my personal favourites "Metalhead" and "Innocence is no Excuse" Two very different albums but both Saxon to the core!

Everything that's been made between years 1980 and 1983 are worth listening.

I have a problem... Saxon - Rock Legends DVD.. Can't find any decent information concerning that DVD. I belive it's a live DVD... does it have some extras? Like promo videos or something... And which year was this live concert performed? And... yeah, is it good? Because it's very cheap in one Net store, only 6€ + shipment ~8,5€...

The Saxon - Rock Legends DVD is the 1990 Greatest Hits ... Live! Video
without any bonus material. You can see the setlist on http://www.saxon747.com
specialy this one is the only (official) live recording with - Rockin' Again live

i have the rock legends dvd, highly recommended, you wont care its not in 5.1 when u see the show they put on , frozen rainbow is a hilite

for the newbie, pick up the saxon chronicles boxset

Don't even have 5.1 :) And not going to get one.. Anyway, what can I say? It's the best music DVD I've seen so far.. I only have 10 though. Live Vengeance '82 by Priest comes quite close though, but that Saxon concert was so full of atmosphere, you know... lovely. I also have this Chronicles 2DVD, but didn't like it really, only loved those promo videos, tv performances, interviews and three videos from that concert in Denmark. But that Wacken concert... I didn't like it really :(

Hey, what's this Live in Nottingham DVD? I saw it in the same Net store, but can't find any information about it... or I can, but it seems to be the same as Rock Legends. So confusing! They also have "Saxon DVD". I wonder what that is, uh... They should provide better information about the products they sell in that store, grr! :)

EDIT: hah! It seems that they've accidently been selling 3 same DVDs with 3 different prices and names.
