say something about ... yourself!

Day 4 of Sobriety.

Longest I have gone since I moved back to Wyoming late July. Since I stopped drinking I have so much energy, I cleaned the house and I am more active at work. I feel so much better now. Now that I can say no and not drink, I have control. But I shall be sober for a long time now.

I'm finally getting myself together.

I've applied for nine jobs since Friday, haven't heard back from any. I have a detailed list going now to refer to in case someone calls. Otherwise I'll likely not remember what the job is :loco:

It's been a busy hour or so. First, my desk lamp broke, and hot glass went everywhere, luckily not on my face.

Then I decided that perhaps I should email my old boss to make sure he has all my current contact info, in case any positions open up, so I did. He emailed me back saying that he'd sent my resume to an imaging company in Dallas and gave me their phone number. So I called them, and the lady I spoke to said she didn't have any positions open, but that she was going to forward my resume to her son, who worked at an imaging company in downtown Dallas, and that he would then forward my resume to his old boss there.

*breathes*

She went on to give me a list of imaging companies in Dallas that I should check with. Two of them are within reasonable distance, so I emailed my resume to one, and called the other. The one that I called requested that I email my resume to them, so I just did that.

And that's it. Hopefully something good comes out of this.

That's fucking great Steve. I've been fortunate enough never to have had a dependency on anything, and I really can't understand what you went through, but I've seen the effects of substance abuse and you've made the right decision.

I feel good pretty much all the time and I don't like it when I feel bad; I think that's why I drink very little except for wine and a few beers here and there. It's great to wake up in the morning without vomiting in your mouth. My first 6 months in Alaska were an alcoholic depression and I'll never do it again.

Good on ya.
