My parents have tried everything under the sun to help him and he just spits in their faces year after year after year. Fuck him. I hope he fucking rots.
Now my parents have to have the stigma of having a son in fucking jail. My other two brothers are star pupils and great kids with extremely bright futures and yet they have to live with the stigma of having a douchebag brother. It's not fair.
If it were me, he would've been disowned and left to fend for himself. I've never been about that "family no matter what" crap. Cut his ass off and leave him behind. If you're going to disgrace my family then you aren't part of my family.

He's only 17, you can place restrictions on him to teach him life lessons which can help his life before just cutting him off and tossing him out in the world, he'll only get worse that way, I mean I know you said your parents tried and if they truly did everything and he's still bad then maybe but if your first move is to disown him, that's not cool
Teens are dumb. Period.If they REALLY fuck up and aren't trying to learn even after having a changing experience that they should have then been altered by, then maybe limit contact and fuck him.
