Hahaha me and my IRC friends are just laughing at how Marksveld has never even TASTED salmon? How on earth is that even POSSIBLE? Seems so utterly foreign to someone from Scandinavia... I had salmon for dinner today, so did friend #1, and friend #2 had salmon for dinner yesterday :D

I think it seems uterly foreign as well! Haha, and I imagine lots from the USA feel the same, huh chaps?

I eat horse all the time, it's not in any way strange in Sweden

Hahaha you're so right... I should have realized that it. But anyway, I'd like to give some of your crazy meats a try... some day, some day.

This stuff is inferior to beef jerky. Kangaroo steak, now THAT's a tasty bit of meat.

Camel burgers are fucking awesome.

Well duh! Jerky is always dominated by the beef. I'd like to try a real Kangaroo steak, seriously. Camel too! Additionally, I've always reallly wanted to try Ostrich- anyone have any comments?

Also- Buffalo is fucking DELICIOUS. I had it prepared in a very archaic style when I was in Quebec. I didn't know what to think, but I was immedietly hooked.

seems totally foreign to someone from britain, too

having said that, the other day in work this 40-odd year old guy came up to the buffet where i was serving and said "what's that?!", pointing at the salmon. "that's... that's salmon", i said, confused. "is that a type of fish?" he replied.

i'm amazed at some people :(

Buffalo is good, yeah. I always wanted to go buffalo hunting, but I'm no longer in the right part of the country. Would've been fun.

If ostrich is anything like emu then it's good, but tough. Kinda like really stringy chicken with a wierd flavour.

I should start sending packets of kangaroo jerkey with any trades I do :p.

i am picky when it comes to seafood but my fave, and I have not had it in ages, is fish soup ... done right and when nice and spicy with fresh baked bread ... lordy lordy.

my mother used to make it a lot back in Europe so that's the one i know ... I can't say I have ever seen it in restaurants anywhere here ... although Asians are big fish soup eaters ... but their version is totally different.

since my original post I've warmed up to seafood in the form of shellfish a little bit, I'm still not a huge fan though.

However tonight I'm having a hugeass steak so as a result seafood can suck it.
