I just got 'Centrifugal Funk' and I'm loving it .
Is there anyone else similar to him, and what do you think of him?

Shawn Lane is amazing, form what I've heard. However, I though he was fuckin' dead. Anyway, great musician. Peace.

It was his birthday yesterday (and yes, unfortunately, he passed away some time ago).

He was a fantastic musician; very skilled at both the guitar and the keyboards. His sense of melody is unique, and he was quite frankly a genius. Checking out his work with Hellborg is an absolute must.

Yeah, Shawn was great. Ridiculously fast, though still musical.

Have been getting all his stuff with Hellborg just in the last couple days. Not usually a fan of the fusion sound, but these things are great.

The guy absolutely ripped, but played more understated than most with that kind of talent.

If you're looking for comparable guitarists, there's not very many of them, but i would reccomend Greg Howe and Brett Garsed for sure.

The solo in "Gray Pianos Flying"...

Check out Icon with him and Jonas. The crazy Indian scatting on it is worth the price of the CD, otherworldly music!
