Sideshow Symphanies - any death vox?

Or, you're one of the millions of people across the world that bought the re-mastered, new edition.

That's quite optimistic... :)

Like every smart person did.

I bought mine before I knew of the mastering fuckups, and there wasn't a new version yet.

I was slightly disappointed in Sideshow Symphonies after all the hype, I think it's nowhere near Masquerade.

I don't think it's good to compare one Arcturus album to another in their catalogue. Each album is unique in it's own way, and sounds completely different than the other. They'll never do another La Masquerade Infernale, sad yes, but one of the reasons that they're a remarkable band is that they never do the same thing twice.

Okay, I agree on that, but what I meant was more like: I don't like it nearly as much as Masquerade.

is there a difference on the cover or something by wich you can tell if it's the remastered version or the old one? ... I want to buy it, but I do not wan't to get something with all those errors in it. (and yes, it's full of it, they admitted in an interview I read yesterday that there where screw-ups with the production).

Sideshow Symphanies is quickly becoming one of my favourite cds, ever.
Shipwrecked Frontier Pioneer could be the best song they have ever written, but every song is fucking great. I honestly can't find fault. I could listen to Simen's voice all day, definatly on par with Garm.

10/10

Sideshow Symphonies is EASILY a 10/10 album. Fucking brilliant and I'm surprised people think Masquerade is better (although I don't think Arcturus has put out an album under 9/10....yet.)

The production rules! The sound truly kicks ass with the high-fi sound being used and all - it totally shows on the right speaker/sound setup. The ONLY thing I noticed being WAY noticeable is the fact the second track (being one of the better ones) - Shipwrecked Frontier Pioneer - happens to be recorded in lower volume than the rest of the album. I ALWAYS have to crank that one up a few notches, in order for it to be on par with the others. To me, this is a VERY small gripe because you can just adjust the volume, simply, yourself. No big deal.

It's a shame to knock what is one of the band's FINEST releases only because of one little mistake on the album.

The top 3 songs off the album, for me, are;

1| Evacuation Code Deciphered (holy crap it is magnificent! The part near the end gives me the chills EVERY damn time. One of my favourite songs by the band, hands down!)

2| Shipwrecked Frontier Pioneer (even though it has the unfortunate slight fuckup, the song is just too damn good)

3| Hibernation Sickness Complete (killer song! wish there were more grim vocals throughout the album like in this song - good stuff!)

For me;

Aspera Hiems Symphonia>The Sham Mirrors>Sideshow Symphonies>La Masquerade Infernale

And trust me, this is hard to rank for the albums are so damn close in greatness.
