All I can say is -

 OY MY FUCKING GOD!!! THEY ARE AWESOME!!!

They are the kings of speed metal, and they have not lost an ounce of speed. And seeing them in a small tighhtly packed and excessively hot venue - man, what an experience.

Oh yeah, and they played my personal favorite Slayer song - Chemical Warfare.

They play thrash metal, not speed metal. [/nitpick]

Though nowadays they mostly play crap.

Even though I am not an expert at genres (actually, I think they just mis-categorize many bands), I beg to differ:

I'm not sure how old you are, but at 42, I've followed Slayer from the beginning, and they were always called speed metal. [/counternitpick]

Ummm.... no. I mean, those are definitely thrash riffs in Hell Awaits and after that. Perhaps during Show No Mercy they were speed.

Agreed "metalmancpa", they did rule. I've seen 70 concerts or so, and I've always managed to miss Slayer some how. I've always liked them, but never saw 'em. I caught the Denver show, and pound for pound that might be the best thrash I've seen live ever. And I was happily surprised to hear "Chemical Warfare", which was the song that got me into the band years ago. Great, great show from the titans of thrash.
