I'm not a Slipknot but it sucks when anyone passes away.Seems like people in the Metal business are dropping like flies. You can find it on MSN home page or Blabbermouth.
Someone pointed out something earlier, it has definitely hit in a 3 pattern like they say, but also, Peter Steele, Paul Gray, and Dio all were bass players... Paul of course playing for Slipknot, Peter of course with Type O, and then Dio played bass in some of his really old projects and such. Sure, it's just coincidence, but it's weird none the less.

By the time the festival comes around, we won't be listening to the bands we came to see.
I, for one, hope at least one band pays tribute to Dio with a song. I went and saw Hypocrisy and Scar Symmetry the night he died and they didn't even say anything. I was kinda shocked. Of course, they're on the road and may not have heard yet, but still. I hope it wasn't cause of lack of respect for a metal pioneer.
I doubt any respectful metal musician would do that for "lack of respect" for Dio. I almost guarantee that they didn't know about it, otherwise they'd certainly say something about it.
not every person has to pay tribute on stage every night. Maybe they did one night and that is all.

All I said was that I didn't think Hypocrisy and Scar Symmetry chose not to do a tribute to Dio the night he died due to not respecting him. I think it was more of a "Shit, we didn't know about it" type of thing. The comment made was referring to the show that they played the day he died.
