Hi everyone,

Does anyone have idea what settings/mics/processing or anything else did Andy use to record Krenkenstein soundclip found here:

http://www.krankamps.com/audio/rta.mp3

Yesterday I've become a happy owner of Krenkenstein+2 cabinets (Fuck yeaaahh!!!) and now I'm in the studio trying to get similar sound to that soundclip...

:worship: Somebody help me?
Or maybe you, Andy? :headbang:

Regards & greetings from Poland

That would've been the Rev1, not sure if he used Krank or Boogie cab on it, but it was a single 57. Probably nothing more than HPF/LPF and very light eq.

REV1?
qouting www.krankamps.com: "New krankenstein clip recorded by our friend and kick ass producer ANDY SNEAP"

Hmmm... I'm going to try to record guitar w/sm57 and krankenstein cabs and w/1960 marshall cabs... it would be pretty fucking cool if a sound would be similar to Andy's clip... yesterday I tried to record something similar and it didn't sound properly. Today I'll keep trying...

Amorphis - Eclipse
Arch Enemy - Doomsday Machine
Arch Enemy - Anthems of Rebellion
Damageplan - New Found Power
Fear Factory - Transgression

I'm not sure they used a Krank on both Arch Enemy albums, but that's what I remember.

ALL of those you listed were recorded with krank revolutions...i dont know of any albums that were recorded with a krankenstein...although if anyone knows for sure i would like to hear them

Okay, Anthems of Rebellion was Peavey (XXX and 5150 I think).

I'm sure some have been recorded with a krankenstein, one only needs to search this forum!

I also thought Doomsday Machine is Rev1. I don't know about the others, but I'd definitely like to hear some Krankenstein on CD.

Id like a Rev myself, ive heard kinda shitty things about Krank though...aint as good as Peavey and Mesa for metal? :\ All the great metal bands have gone to Krank recently it seems.

the dead walk by the acacia strain was recorded with a krankenstein for sure...thats the only one i know of...i have a rev myself and i like it a lot

krank seems to be a great company(at least they have been to me) they do a lot to make sure you are happy with your amp. they will do any modification you want for very good prices. their techs are quick to answer questions(even though im sure they get sick of all the kids asking stupid questions about how to make their krankenstein sound like dimebag)
the whole harmony central thing is kind of a joke to me...blown WAY out of proportion. they had some immature employees that made a mistake(and got fired). i wouldn't let some posts on a review site(that i would never use as a resource in the first place) keep me from dealing with a company. it was like 3 years ago its time to get over it and let the amps speak for themselves. some people like them some people don't. the same goes for any other amp. i have had no problems with mine and i know a lot of other krank owners who would say the same.

sorry about the rant..but every forum i read i see "i have heard bad things about krank" but no threads actually mention any bad things...other than the occasional technical problem that could happen to any amp...

what i am trying to say is try a krank(loud...most players who say they sound bad never had a chance to turn them up) and then decide...

i have no endorsement deal with krank. i am just a happy owner. i own several other amps too. i just think people need to realize that krank isnt all that bad. i am sure the other owners on this board could agree.
