Soilwork is a perfect example for a sad tragedy.
started as a KICK ASS band from Sweden, they were my favorite for a while,
first couple of albums were AMAZING,
then Natural Born Chaos came out, and ok, it was decent, very different,
grew on me after a while and I even liked it....
but it was the begining of the fall,... how sad..
from a talented band with such a fresh sound, they have became nothing
but another lame ass band that "explores" musically what they can RUIN.

yeah, the new album sucks ass btw.
worst even than Figure Number Five.

amen :worship:

I loved natural born chaos, i thought fn5 sucked and this one is worse. such a shame.

steelbath suicide and chainheart machine totally rule. NBC is also good (at least it was the last time i listened to it like a year ago haha). the rest are poo.

Being a die hard Inflames and Soilwork fan Ill stick by it. I really liked STYE and I have had that and Lunarstrain in my player at the same time. Predators portriat was the first Soilwork I heard and is still my favorite, but Im still looking forward to the new album, I loved Departure Plan and Overload off of FNF.

just like how people listened to Soundtrack to your Escape

F(r)iend was lame I thought. Which is funny considering most people like that song alot. Dead Alone, Sweet Shadow, Insearch For I, and Superhero of the computer rage I liked alot. The faster songs with melodies or as pyrus put it, iron maiden inspired eurotrash, are my favs. Inflames has only released like three songs I didnt like and thats it.

Dear God, I couldn't agree with you more. Soilwork's first three albums absolutely blew me away with not only thier technicality, but in the case of APP, their ORIGINALITY. They took the Gothenburg sound a step further, and created a dense musicality that worked so damn well. It was complex, but DEEP, and made sense on many different levels. The atmospheres, the brutality, and the pure SHRED just blew me away.

NBC came out, and I swear was created to please people that watch the network television station of the same initials. It had a couple decent "tunes", but nothing that made me sit up and pay attention. Cookie cutter, candy coated, NOUGAT METAL. And its a damn shame I say that, cause I met Peter after a show in San Jose, and he was cool as shit.

I never bothered with Figure Number whatever, because my buddy said he bought it, and on the way home, actually took it out of his car player, and threw the disc out the window it sucked so bad. So much for that.

I have absolutely no hopes for this album, and while it may have a track or two which may hold some sort of quasi-resemblance of something that could remotely be considered almost sorta somewhat cool, I say fuck it.

WINGS OF DOMAIN!!!!!

Having grown up here in Gothenburg, I'd be the extra tolerant one to this kind of music.

Soilwork:

before APP, quite lovely. I approved NBC, had some damn nice songs on it.

Then came FnF. Ummm, theres maybe like 2 pretty good songs on it. I can't really say anything else about it because there isnt anymore to say of it.

I heard STD a month or two ago, and it just sounded so.... empty.
They're a good band, but their music is in no way what it was before.
Its not the same feeling. Not that it had too much feeling in it, either. :(

I'm not saying it sucks, it just doesnt appeal any more.

And for In Flames....

I think too many people complain on them for their popularity. Sure, theres loads of kiddies going around with shirts of them, but hey, what do you do?

Their music has most of the time been enjoyable to me, even if they arent in any way my favorite band.

Lots of their stuff is nice, sure. I'm not too bothered with the new album, it has some decent songs, and isnt a pain to listen to, like some people say. Thats just a matter of taste.

just to sum it up, most people like the older albums of a band. if they cant handle the change, well, thats a whole other story.

cheers.

how appropriate though...

You guys suck. Does anybody feel like PRojector by Dark Tranquility is an underrated album, I recently threw it back in my player after a two year hiatus and realized how good it really is. Anyway Im still looking forward to it to getting STD, I mean uhhhh nevermind. I mean stabbing the drama.
