My friend showed me a couple of songs. Still despise them, the vocalists attempts at clean vocals are more than pathetic..

How can anyone say STD is worse than FNF? "Blind Eye Halo" and "Stalemate" alone blow away anything that was on that shitty disc. I guess some of you are just claiming to have heard the new disc.

ok, maybe its not worse, because thats all subjective to what you like to listen to.
but this new soilwork is unoriginal , and boring imo, but oh well, just look at all the sales plenty of others of the same thing have.
I even liked FNF, yeah it was just a watered down version of what they had been, but unlike the new album, the disc had variety, and it made for a decent listening experience. STD has bland song writing, the songs go nowhere, blah blah blah
blind eye halo and stalemate, hjaha ha listen to them and go "HEY LISTEN TO THAT METAL" ha ha ha ha , ok hey compared to the rest of the crap on there, now compare it to something good, even old soilwork to make it a better point, and see how there's no good structure there on the new one.

Soilwork actually had a couple of decent songs on "Chainheart Machine", but thats pretty much it for both bands. In Flames with Fridén has always sucked.

Dark Tranquility -Projector is actually an awesome album.
it took me a while to get used to it at first, but I love the new touches they did on their music in that album. gothic / Depeche Mode-ish touches in some of the songs- - LOVE IT.
but... and here comes a big butt.... I mean but.
the album after that Haven....... oh my they better change its name to Hell...
hated it. and hated the one after that too...
the new one, as Max said: is actually surprising... so I haven't gave up on DT YET.
Soilwork on the other hand.... is dead to me.
oh and yeah: I agree with Karmic: "Gothenburg band" or "Gothenburg sound"
