My god it’s such a sell-out , right down to the packaging!
But who cares about that.. This album really does rock! :headbang: (with a few exceptions which do not rock, but in-fact suck)

To a degree this album was ahead of it’s time, just look at all the bands carving up the charts now using the same sound and formula. Stained, Nickleback, Creed and even Linkin Park to name just a few. Sure Metallica may have sold out, but at least they never bitched about metal sucks and is over is; i.e. Bruce Dickinson and Rob Halford. :(

Reload on the other hand, is still unlistenable. Or at least it was the last time I bothered trying (at least 2 years ago).

Load is coolish, a slower black album, I like The House That Jack Built, Until It Sleeps, Hero Of The Day and King Nothing. The rest is snoozeworthy.
F**K Bob Rock for ruining Mama Said with that country crap though

Reload has 3 good songs, Fuel, Unforgiven 2 and Devils Dance, the rest can go f**k Kevin Shirleys horse as far as im concerned. How pathetic is it that Reload was the last album to have original Metallica studio material? Its only been like 6 years  What the hell have they been doing
I want to hear some new stuff, even if it sucks! :)

And the Reload stuff was written at the same time as Load!

Bleeding Me is probably my favourite, but I also like House Jack Built, Hero Of The Day, King Nothing, Until It Sleeps and Ain't My Bitch. Outlaw Torn, Thorn Within and Wasting My Hate are reasonable too.

Just what did Bob Rock do with Mama Said?

Bob said it would be a good idea to put that stupid pedal steel thing on the chorus.
It would have been SO much better if they had left it just and acoustic and James' voice IMHO

I like Load, don't like Reload at all though. The band obviously weren't too keen on the material either, only playing a couple of the songs at their Brisbane show (they didn't even do Unforgiven 2, thank god!).

Do they have a replacement for wossname, Jason Newsted? Joey Vera would be good.

I have what you're on about!
I skipped that track all day, so I guess I'll have to go give it a listen.

Years ago "Mama Said" was on the radio at work, and a girl said that it was her favourite Metallica song, and another girl said hers was "Nothing Else Matters", and I said mine was "The Four Horsemen"... they didn't know that one, though :)

That's one of those things I hate about Metallica (or at least their fans) thesedays.

They say Enter Sandman, I say Jump In The Fire
I say Ride The Lightning, they say Mama Said
They say Nothing Else Matters, I say For Whom The Bell Tolls.
I say Suck my dick, they say That'll be $12.50.
They say The Memory Remains, I say Blackened.
I say Battery, they say The Unforgiven.

Metallica have basically become two different bands with two very seperate group of fans.

I dont know the current market valuations or fluctuations but $12.50 strikes me as being rather cheap..... But then again, properties here in Sydney are also way more expensive than Melbourne so perhaps market forces dictate the competitions prices...... :)

Hahahahah Sydo!

I agree though about the 2 different bands and 2 different groups of fans though.

There are 2 Metallica's as far as I'm ocncerned. Although I think the Black Album kinda links the 2 together in some way.
