Top Gun is probably my favorite military movie...even with all the fakeness and bullshit about it, I still love it.

Our favorite criticism for the movie was Goose's radar display...it had a 360 degree sweep, like there's a friggin' radar mounted on top of the aircraft spinning around.

Never watch a military movie that's somewhat action-oriented with anyone in the military. All through the movie: "that's bullshit" or "it wouldn't be like that, but like this", etc.
