So who got their COTM fanclub CD?

I just can't wait to hear it, i have been a member for over a year now and have almost worn out the polo shirt, i have a strong feeling the CD will arrive tomorrow.

Thanks alot Jax, for this opportunity to hear a 'behind-the-scenes' of a truly amazing band!!

Wow, thanks for all the positive comments..I've never put a cd together from scratch before, and man, what a learning experience it was! I was nervous about how it'd be received..glad everyone's happy with it!

Having put together some 50+ CDs for artists and compilations, I can attest to the detail and finesse that goes into putting a CD together. You did a great job and I look forward to #2!! ;)

The thing that strikes me is, given today's reliance on digital recording, there are usually very few outakes ever saved since it's so easy to just go back and record over the track. It's great (and miraculous) that the band saved these!

Now, the only criticism I have is that I thought the band was going to hand-deliver the CD to my house... :loco:

Keep up the great work Jax! We love ya!

I am listening to it for the first time now. Awesome, plain awesome. I love the live feel. I am glad that the final solos in The Inferno were a little crazier than on this demo. He seems to be holding back a bit. I can't wait to hear the rest of it though. Great job Jax!

I'm working extra shifts at Dominos Pizza just to make enough money to join the fanclub! Great work Jax, without you, Symphony X would just be Symphony, and with you we add the X and BILLIONS OF FANS THAT LOVE YOU AND THE BAND!

PS: Does anyone know if the Starwars suite was done specifically for the CD, or an old record?

MJR did it because he loves the movies and the music..it wasn't created FOR anything in particular that he ever mentioned.

Yeh IT does feel better when you work for stuff! Well I understand that Romeo loves Starwars, as do I for that matter, i'm actually making a fanfilm for starwars, maybe Ic an get Romeo to play a song for us during our lightsabre duel lol (yeh right ion my dreams lol)

Nah, I was wondering more along the lines jax if it was done more recently or like in the past when Starwars originally came out?

Has anyone in the UK recieved the CD yet? The anticipation is growing more and more!
Not as yet. Not trying to be a sceptic, but the postal service has screwed up on a couple of occasions for me recently. Most notably losing Andromeda's Definitive Extension CD which made me very angry. That was difficult to find in the first place :(

There are people in Europe who've gotten their cd, & people here in the states still waiting for theirs..there's just no rhyme nor reason to how the postal service works, makes no sense to me.

Well, I just got mine yesterday and it's sooo cool :) I love hearing the raw tracks, and hearing how they developed. And the star wars suite kicks total ass!

Much thanks goes to MJR for giving us the tracks, and HUGE Thanks to Jax for putting it all together! Thank you thank you thank you!

Well, I was paying some bills today and joined with the regular membership. Didn't really want a shirt AND a CD - since I never wear metal shirts unless I'm going to a concert. So of course I chose the CD. Mainly for the Star Wars track. Hopefully it comes soon!

I actually got it on Monday; but I've been out of town. I've been rocking it quite regularly though. It's nice to hear the live, raw Symphony X sound again(not that I don't love their polished sound); and it's really interesting to hear how they develop a song during the recording process.
Ya gotta admire their perfectionism and you realize they really put their all into a song and aren't satisfied until they've ridden it as high as it will go. It kinda reminds me of how Beethoven would carry around his sketch notebooks, constantly scribbling out and revising musical passages until he was sated(enough).

Gates of Misery is an AWESOME alternate version and Disillusioned is simply killer. They should definitely do something with that. Really cool early stuff.

I'm really glad they let Rod Tyler go though after hearing his take of "A Winter's Dream Pt. 2". The only real version(the one with Russell Allen) is a trillion quantum streaks better.

Star Wars is bliss. And I loooove the beginning.

Btw Jax, what did MJR think of the latest Star Wars flick?!?
Just curious if he's said anything. (It's my fav)

PS: Episode 3 has the most impact of all the movies, i loved it the most! I'm sure if Romeo is a really big fan, he probably loved the episode 4,5,6 and found spisode 1 and 2 exceptional, and than put episode 3 up with the ORIGINAL 3

I need to get the album damnit....I'm glad they still show Rod Tyler some respect, I personally prefer Russell Allen's voice, and he is quantum trillions times better but still! Rod Tyler has his place in symphony X history.

It arrived this morning ;D

I've listened to it twice already, it rules, I love the whole raw sound, and Russ' improvs, the SW suite is also cool to have!

Nice work Jax!!
