Some bands/albums i'm curious about

What are these bands and albums like? I've heard lots of good things about Destoyer 666. I think they're Aussie if i'm not mistaken.

I think the other fellows here will have to say more on this, but as far as I know, the Haunted are from Sweden and play thrash. Their last album is supposed to be very very good. Like I said I don't hear them, so wait the answers!

I have the haunted's self titled album, and frankly, it kills. the band i would say they most resemble is slayer... there are some really great innovative moments on the disc, but there also seems to be a prevalence of regurgitated riffs, which is alright to an extent. the brilliant chord progressions make up for it.
i don't have their latest release, the haunted made me do it, because it didn't come recommended to me. apparently it falls short of their self titled... although curiousity dictates i'll pick it up eventually.

Well, the Haunted are indeed Swedish and they're music is amped up thrash. Good shit, though I miss Peter Dolving.

Destroyer 666 are indeed Australian, and they play a death metal style mixed with older black metal influences (Sarcofago, old Bathory). They can be brutal, but mostly they go for dark song writing that is surprisingly catchy and haunting. Personally, I think Phoenix Rising, their most recent, is killer. On of my faves of the year.

Check 'em out if you want some darker, heavier music in your collection.

The haunted rule. super fast melodic great thrash metal. and dont listen to anyone who says teh new one isn't as good as the s/t. it's miles better. better production, better singer, better songwriting, catchier and thrahier riffs. great band. i just got to see them live last week and they were amazing.

destroyer 666 rule. they are a mix of war metal and black metal. very original band and niether sound fits them. they are austrailian. their newest, phoenix rising, is one of the best of the year. very brutal, sometimes unorthodox, but great catchy songwriting. download the song "i am the wargod." great band.

devin townsend is great. physicist is probalby his weakest record though. start with the newest one, terria. then go back to physicisst and infinity. you should check out ocean machine too.
