Some Doom metal realizations......

Opeth17 will like the more death/doomy stuff since he's highly into death metal. So yeah, Winter, Disembowelment, Mourning Beloveth's "Dust", and probably early Morgion. I've also heard about a band called Ceremonium which are suppose to be very good, heavy, and doomy. Just stay away from trad doom, Opeth17, you will not like it.

Lamented Souls is mostly asscrap. And yeah, Dust wipes the floor with My Whining Bride.

Void of Silence - Human Antithesis (you don't get better than this)
Morgion - Cloaked By Age, Crowned In Earth
Esoteric - Metamorphogenesis

Mourning Beloveth sounds interesting, though. It needs to be emotional, atmospheric and basically have something interesting going, ala Agalloch. Slow-paced heavy riffs aren't very interesting in and of themselves.

I get bored with them quickly and that accounts for why even my favorite doom albums get played infrequently, but the slow riffs are often necessary to help create the emotions dominant in doom metal like sadness and isolation, and often add to the atmosphere...

Until Death Overtakes Me is rather poor, unfortunately

Nowhere CLOSE to the likes of Skepticism and Thergothon, but sure, worth a shot I guess.
