some hardcore mix

Music is cool, but the mix doesnt work.
I mostly listen to hardcore of all types, so I realy know what I´m talking about.

The mix needs way (!!!) more clarity.
The vocals arent up front in your face.
Something totaly weird happens with your comp on the 2-bus ?!?!

Listen to have heart, down to nothing, the carrier and stuff like that.
All this mixes are rough but have clarity and great seperation between the instruments.

Keep up the good work.

the nonclarity is due to the room - lot of room in guitar tracks
just mixing this one - this band is even form other country
thanks for the answer

1.Do you have close mics on the guitars too?
If so, I would throw away the room-tracks and only use the close mics.

2.Compress the living hell out of the vocals (I realy like waves Rvox to even out the vocals)

3.Work on the balance between OH-ROOM-PARALLEL COMP in the drum sound.

Hope this helps

cheers

yeah the problem is that there hellova room in close mics… there's also lots of room in a OHs
btw maybe i pushed too hard L2 when quick mastered. gonna look at it

oops - 2bus comp was bypassed - was only l2 killing all the dynamics - yayks
updating first post

Sounds better, but there is still a big build up in the low-mids to the high-mids.
Maybe its the L2? It is realy a mix-destroyer if you go over -11rms.

How much gain-reduction is going on?
Everything over -2 is fucking up the mix.

Hope I could help you with this

cheers

yep its -2 - and this is maximum for l2
really man - all that muddiness is from guitars - the funny thing that the intro is double tracked and guitar sound lot roomier
by cutting with eq those "room" freqs - you get thin sound
c4 works great - the original tone is worse

wish i had DI's…
but i think i can cut low mids some more on gtr

[add]
ok removed some mids from gtrs
