Some reviews of the new HEAVEN & HELL album

Yeah. Ronnie hasn't done fast since Killing the Dragon. Master of the Moon and the 3 H&H songs got similar complaints.

Looks like people like who wanted an uptempo album will be disappointed as it looks to be a very doomy disc. In any ways, I'm still REALLY looking forward to hearing this, even though the apparent lack of speed might bug me a bit. But I loved the slow doomy songs on Dehumanizer (a killer album for me) so this is still all good.

Black Sabbath invented doom metal and was never the speediest band around so it's no real surprise for me to get a slow album. Add to the fact that Dio loves to sing on these slow doom metal riffs played by Iommi.

In any ways, to get a new studio album by these legends, and a very good HEAVY one from what the reviews mention, is already incredible.

Yep. That and "Family Of Osbourne Ltd" :)

It was indeed a bad April fool's joke courtesy of myself, sorry about that. At least we got a good rant against Sharon by Wyv because of it and that can never be a bad thing. :kickass:

I thought that maybe you coined that, but then I was like nah Tsorl is not that kind of guy. Remind me to banish you from the forum :p

And yes ranting against Sahron always feels so good...

Haven't followed the whole conversation but ....

Well done my friend! Very well written and the prank itself was totally believable. I've done press releases and general media for a living and you still had me going for awhile! I did the same as every one else...checked out all the official sites to see if it was true and then chalked it up to an april fools joke.

That said, you're still a fucker for making me waste my time looking it up. :heh:

When's this disc gonna leak already? Hopefully there are some powerful tracks like "I". I don't want a disc of Shadow of the Wind's.

As people had posted in this thread it seems the latter it's gonna be the end product :err:. As for leaking I guess this one will be difficult, Rhino must have it pretty tight sealed.

I don't mind a doom album from HAH, I mean BS/HAH started the whole doom sub-genre. And "Dehumanizer" have some great doom tracks like 'After All (the dead)', but like many here I would like some 'I', 'Neon Knights', 'Mob Rules' type of song.
In general I wasn't thrilled with the three songs they made for the boxset (two of which made it to the live album), but listening again to 'Bible Black' a couple of days ago it clicked better than the first time I listened to (maybe because my mindset it's on a doom oriented album).

I have a question, does anyone knows what the numbers in the logo mean?

Thus far the new Sabbath album is hit and miss. Some really good tunes (Bible Black, Atom, Nevermore) and some really long drawn out and rather lethargic songs. Production is rather muddy too, I think for Sab it works. Dio sounds pretty good.

I have to wonder how bored what's his face on Drums must be. 2/3 of the songs are in half time!

It's a doom album, the songs should have some lethargic feeling :D. And as always the production doesn't bothers me. I think you will enjoy music a lot more if you listen as a fan and not as a musician

It's not going to ne #1 of the year but it will make to the top ten for sure.

No idea what the numbers mean, but if anyone spots a larger version of that winged demon logo, let me know. Either post a link or PM me a link. A friend of mine wants to put that on his bass drum head but we need bigger artwork to work from.

That logo started around 79-80 when Ozzy was leaving and Dio coming to BS. Maybe a Google or Yahoo search for a Black-Sabbath-jumping-demon-logo (any combination of keywords) may result positive for your needs.

I love it.....it's exactly what I expected! It's a driving, fierce, confident, heavy-as-balls doom record!

At this point, it's safe to say that Dio has "won". He's won the years-long "war" with Ozzy. As GREAT as the Ozzy era is/was, and as great as Ozzy's early solo stuff is, Dio is now, IMO, the voice of Sabbath.
His presence has sparked the band's rescusitation. His voice is still unmatched (Ozzy's is shot). He's the godfather of metal.....Ozzy could have held that distinction if his career didn't take the turn it did.

All hail Dio.:worship:kickass::loco:

Hence why I'm not huge on Doom. I don't mind slower songs, but I wish there were a couple of faster ones. It's still quite a good album, and your "Top 10 but not #1" applies to me too.

Dio sounds great - SoundMaster, totally agree with your assertion. It's also why I like the Dio-era stuff A LOT better than Ozzy's.

Yup, did the whole google images search but couldn't find a decent sized black and white version of it. Tsorl came through for me though! ALL HAIL TSORL! :headbang: :worship:
