Many people who like Katatonia like these bands as well, so I give small update:

Seems like 2005 will be quite busy for Shape of Despair camp. New Shape of Despair album will be out in the end of spring 2005 on Spinefarm as always. It will be CD with special stuff. New songs, unreleased tracks, demo tracks... maybe remixes. In the same time will be out first unreleased band demo "Alone in the Mist" on Vinyl on DLS label in limited to 500 LP's edition with deluxe cover.

The Mist And The Morning Dew MCD will be out on 31th of January throught Vendlus Records from USA. In the end of the summer, The Mist will record first full-lenght album which will be released on Vendlus Records again.

New Rapture album will be entitled "Silent Stage" and will be released on 16th of February in Finland and 21th of February worldwide on Spinefarm. Expect their most brutal shit since years!

I thought songs for the withering was an excellent release. I don't want 'brutal' from Rapture, hopefully they mean it will be darker and heavier than their last release rather than death metal.

I am very glad to hear that about Rapture. Their website has been down for quite some time and I was beginning to wonder if they'd broken up or not. I loved their first two releases, and I have no doubt Silent Stage will be brilliant as well. Only a little while longer...

New Fragile Hollow disc comes out in a bit, which features aleksi from rapture/rain paint. I was a huge fan of their excellent 'Effete Mind' release and am awaiting this new one to blow me away. Rain Paint is releasing a new one soon, I can't wait !

Yeah, me too! Can think of no better name for a Rapture album than "Silent Stage"! Hell, all they do between albums is be silent! Anyway, let's hope is a bit less straightforward than on Songs for Withering!

Well, I am not sure there will be any other album by Thy Serpent. But if they decide to make one, it will be for sure without Sami Tenez... the mastermind behind Thy Serpent. Sami is very busy with Spikefarm these days so I doubt he would agree to record more shit.

Yep, thought so too. But still, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Thy Serpent was my biggest inspirator back in the days I started to fool around in bands. And Forest of Witchery is still, IMO, one of the best metal albums to come from Finland!!
