Dudes :kickass:

It´s the right time to post this here, because I´m exactly in this mood haha. Maybe some Yngwie Malmsteen fans know this actually, because he often played it. It´s called Adagio (in g-minor) and is written by Tomaso Albinoni.

Adagio (g-minor)

The Violine was played by my little sister Julia. I mixed the orchestral silver edition elements with the real strings. I played the classical guitar and produced mixed, mastered it. I´m corious, if you like it at all.

Greetings,

Felix

Beautiful playing and fantastic recording of the classical guitar (with the perfect amount of reverb) Felix, damn - could not possibly imagine a better recording/performance. I gotta say, the vibrato on the fake strings makes it really obvious that they're, well, fake (almost sounds like a pipe organ to me, rather than strings), so if there's a way to turn down the modulation, I'd do it (what all do you have going on in there?). Oh man is it gorgeous though, and fantastic stereo spread on everything, it's all excellently defined. Gorgeous! (and FARRRRRRRRRRR more tasteful and moving than anything Yngwie could ever do :D)

Ooh, one thing though - I know it's a live performance and an acoustic instrument and all, but on one of the notes near the end of the solo passage at 2:12 I can hear the b-string ring out on the vibrato :ill: I know I'm nitpicking, but I had to mention it!

First of all...

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, DUDES! It´s good when the day begins with a coffee and reading your comments :)

I played the yamaha semi acoustic directly in the mackie onyx1640, I did not mike it this time. For the string elements I used the east west silver edition also for the pipe organ. I tryed to lay a barock ground for it. Like I did often, I asked my sister Julia to play some real violine over it for addition (I recorded it with a Neumann tlm103) because I hate artificial unreal sounds a fucking lot! And Marcus, you´re damn right:

I gotta say, the vibrato on the fake strings makes it really obvious that they're, well, fake

Yes, indeed..and I regret it. And I will propably make a new record session for it..(also with a miked classical guitar). There is so much details to correct and improve. The overall sound I also dig, but some problems lay in the details.

but on one of the notes near the end of the solo passage at 2:12 I can hear the b-string ring out on the vibrato I know I'm nitpicking, but I had to mention it!

And I´m glad, you mentioned it. Thanks for your detailed analysis, dude. I appreciacte it so much :headbang:

For Yngwie Malmsteen I can only bow :worship: :worship: :worship:
For me he is one of the technically best in the world. So I do not really know, if I have deserved all this kind compliments.

Thank you very much, my friends!

I think Yngwie's music can have plenty of feeling! Especially the earlier stuff...! Ever catch the "Live in Leningrad" performance? The energy in that show is unreal!

Haha, well putting aside the Yngwie debate, I'm glad there actually was a pipe organ in there, cuz I was getting seriously worried if that's what the strings in that program sounded like! And that's an INCREDIBLE tone for going direct from the acoustic, holy shit - direct acoustics usually sound so fake (or at least steel-stringed ones do), but this totally convinced me; are there piezo pickups in the bridge, or is there just a mic inside the body?

Nice recording, I must have listened to Icarus Dream Suite Op 4 a million times now. This is very refreshing to hear!
Only thing i was missing was a short electric guitar solo following the acoustic.

Other than that, great job!

Hahahahahahaha  This would be...just terrible!! But fortunately it´s not true.

It´s a condenser microphone in the Body + B-Band Pick-Up. It´s very good sounding with that, but nevertheless I would prefer a tlm103 for it..maybe I try both one time.

Thank you very, very much, @social numb and @Pardy666..I appreciate it :kickass: :kickass:

Awesome Felix :D Very clean and clear sound... almost feel the urge to step away from all the metuuuulz for a while and do something calm and clear :)

Thanks a lot, bro :) I´m glad you liked it! Why not also sometimes listen to clear ´n calm stuff. It´s good for your soul :kickass: Hahaha I just listen to cannibal corpse´s "vomit the soul" hahahaha it´s so sick

I've never heard the piece before but i cant think of a better introduction to it than this! Awesome guitar playing and from what i can hear in the background your sister is very good on the violin.

The guitar sound didn't trick me into thinking it was an external mic, but i have to say it's by far the best tone i've ever heard from any electro-acoustic plugged in. Very good mix as well.

btw, gotta love those tlm103s, real quality mics and very versatile
