Thrashing Chef of Doom!
these are all great points of advice..
Here's a REALLLY easy way..welll..easy to get, lots of hard work.
1. Get a good quality metronome
2.Head to Stetina.com...buy "Speed Mechanics for Lead guitar" by Troy stetina. this is the best book PERIOD on developing left hand speed and right hand picking. It breaks it all down, starts with one string, then goes from there. It also goes into sweep picking later in the book
3.practice like a mutha!!!
And oh yeah..learn your scales..and never let speed and technical skill rule over what fits...play what sounds good..not what will show off your skills!
