Sonar X1 Producer opinions?

I'm getting a new PC, and need Win 7 64 bit friendly recording software.

Since the dust has settled on the release, is it worth the hype?

I use SS drums. I read on here that Session Drummer 3 is compatible with SS drums? Can someone elaborate?

I really like the look of the prochannel. But I have a lot of good plugs already. Is it any better than using wavs, t-racks, Nomad etc that I already own?

Is it worth the $200?

The dust hasn't quite settled. There's a second patch (SX1b) due to be released in March (see here for details)

Regarding Slate Drums and SD3: Steven Slate produced a kit for SD3 but that's all. SD3 patches are Sfz format (same as Dimension Pro and Rapture).

If you're unsure about Sonar there'll be a demo released at some point after the SX1b patch is released (if previous releases patterns are anything to go by). Might be worth waiting until then.
