By newer Darkthrone I'll assume you mean anything post-Panzerfaust, "not classic" Darkthrone. I genuinely find Total Death unlistenable, although I probably should go and give it another spin since its been so long. Ravishing Grimness, however, I loved upon first listen and still love to this day. After that, though, I sort of lost interest, the only DT record finding its way to my stereo since being Sardonic Wrath, which I found damned enjoyable. I'm certainly a fan of this blackrock/motorhead metal thing that they're doing, if it can in fact be called as such.

I like it, but the only albums of theirs i'll spend my precious time with are Under a Funeral Moon and Transylvanian Hunger. There's nothing in their other albums worthwhile that those two don't have.
