I went to Utopia and they had that Liquidy Drum Theater dvd you were going on about, so I thought id let you know :D

Im pretty sure it was it anyway, it had a purpley cover :)

One question......I got a Dream Theater tape here the other day. It's called Solitary Shell (like the song on the new album), and has quite a few live covers, and I think a few recorded (I've only listened to it once so far). They cover Metallica, U2, The Beatles, Elton John and others. Now is this some sort of Indonesian thing, where a bootleg has been given a nice cover, or what? Ever heard of it?

Also picked up stuff by Jason Becker, Marty Friedman, Cacophony, Geezer and SOAD (SOAD bought entirely on recommendations by people on this board!). Not bad!

I've never heard of it, so yep, it's a bootleg.

Let me guess - U2 song is "Bad"? Beatles song is "Happiness Is A Warm Gun"? Elton John song is either "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" or "Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding"?

They've done some great covers in the past. Rock on, Dream Theater, rock on.

Yeah, they have done a heap pf covers in their time. I have a cd with just about all of the covers that they have done including Rush, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Tori Amos, U2, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Yes (With Steve Howe on geetar as well)..... plus a heap of others that I cant remember.
Also have them doing Smoke on the Water with Bruce D on vox

Yeah, I have the Smoke on the Water with Bruce as well. The video for that (at least some of it) is on Five Years in a Livetime, same with the Steve Howe thing (yay!) and a couple of the geezers from Marillion (*yawn*).

Yeah, I dont think I have ever sat through the Marillion thing all the way. The others are cool though. I like the Damage Inc with that guy from that band. Sounds cool. I think JP blows Howe away though when they are jamming. 5 years is a cool videro. Derek looked like he had a sense of humour
