Started building my (small) studio

Wow... nice build, man!

I just saw this thread for the first time and I'm impressed. After spending the last few months building (and still finishing) my own studio, I'm both cringing at the amount of money this will be all costing you and stunned by how awesome it's coming up. The floors especially look fantastic - I would have really liked to have done that in my build but the budget got the best of me, I'm afraid. :(

I can't wait to see (and hear) it when it's finished - keep up the awesome work! :headbang:

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the compliments.

I have just came from reading your construction thread from a link from this forum, and it looks really good. Great stuff!!! :kickass:
I wish I could have done mine in the same time as you did yours. :)

what's the infared sensor for?

As Ben guessed, it's for the HVAC :)

Argosy assembly continues... :)

This is the 3bay rack being assembled.

Yeah, I've seen these. That stuff takes up some rack spaces but definitely not all of which he's going to have in his new studio!

At the time of that pic I had stuff packed because I didn't have the space for it inside the room.
And I have also bought more gear since that pic :heh:

I will have a lot of rack spaces because:
- I need some spaces between some type of gear that gets very VERY hot
- I will have about 10RUs free in the racks because I have some gear in mind to buy.
- I will have 10 more spaces than what I initially ordered, because on the original order the Console only had 1 10RU bay, but since I needed to have more space to put the monitors, I bought a wider console and that console has 2 10RU bays, so I will have more 10RUs free.

and...
- I have gear to fill most of it

Argosy will replace all the damage panels.
But I will have to wait 1 week for it.
More delays...

The tension is growing with everyday!!! How much more do you have left?

- I have to assemble the console
- some panels have to be put on place (it was waiting for the HVAC machine panels to be installed)
- some door jambs have to be painted because the painting was damaged meanwhile :erk:
- Most of the walls and celing have to be painted again because of the same reason.
- I have to install the foam and vinyl on the gaps between the new rooms and also between rooms and original house walls/windows.
- Still waiting for cables.
- Clean all :)
- Pass all the cables on the subfloor channels.
- Install all the gear
- Connect everything
- Barbecue!!!! :kickass:

Some more things that still have to be done but won't prevent me from installing the gear.

- I'm going to replace the house original windows. (they don't attenuate the sound much)
- I'm waiting for a new security door
- I'm replacing the windows shades for more secure ones.
- The entrance needs the floor tiles.
- WC will be restored
- Entrance and machine room still need some drywall work and painting.
- And more that I must not be remembering at the moment...
