I know this friend since I can remember, I was born 6 months before him and we were raised together, we went to elementry school together, high schools and then he moved away from this city. He's the best, been few years i haven't meet him or talk to him more than 15 mins and i still can tell him "how is your bitch? i mean your mom" and he doesn't get mad at it or anything, just like brothers. Fuck, i need friends like these, unlike most of my so called mates who are only there for fun and when you need them they are away (except for 2 or three guys).

Thats not friends, imo that acquaintances. Even if they have been around for forever or they have evolved from 'friends'.
