Yes, I learned VB6 on my own in summer 2009, it's fun to be honest, but not used anymore, but you'll find .NET easier after learning VB6, which is very very useful.
I decided to strengthen my skills in PHP. But the thing with programming is that I need to work on a project or sth, I don't like doing random things, the other time I programmed I did the Desolator website (they won't use it tho).
I was thinking earlier of making a website of surveys or sth like that, somethng useful using PHP and MySQL.

i will have PHP next semester, i'm scared

PHP is very easy, the syntax is fathomable even to someone who doesn't know about programming I guess.
