also, green day, they get more hate than is deserved imo, they were the worst band of that whole 90's punk scene, social distortion and rancid were farrrrrr better. american idiot was a bit of a cliche album, but at least they did reinvent themselves, and sure the songs were simple, but they were catchy too. it brought relevant social commentary to the kids of the day, and it probably lead them to better punk bands. but there is far worse stuff out there. trust me, i worked at a music store for years. . i got to appreciate that there is stuff with no lasting appeal, that is just garbage pop music, and then there are people who genuinely enjoy making pop songs, and you see those people putting out albums for years too.

people in general need to get off their high horse about their taste in music.


so in conclusion, when it comes to green day versus disturbed, i am not a fan of either, but disturbed holds its roots firmly in nu metal, which is hands down the greatest travesty in music, and as such i have to deny them a vote.
