Emetic. You use 10-46's for A Standard? Holy shit. Does your guitar have amazingly low scale?
I have a Les Paul, and I use 13-56 for Drop C. Works awesomely for Drop B and B Standard aswell.

Gibson Explorer 2008 model, it's probably because when I put my strings on I went straight to A standard and left it there. Don't put them on and go to E, you'll never get them to sit properly
