stefan86's offtopic random retard thread - post away!

well, i was going to make another joke about Americans, but is not funny anymore.

i just think you regard the president on a high standard, his powers are very limited, you guys should worry more about who to elect for congressman, senators, etc.

i believe Obama got in with good intentions, but he got his chops busted. So doesn't really matter who gets to be the president, nothing is going to change.

Holy Christ, a coherent thought. It's almost...humanizing. :guh:

I for one will love to follow our American politics, it's going to be like watching a tragic comedy with a big bucket of popcorn. you'll laugh and laugh, but eventually you become a little sad, when you know that no matter which of your favourite Candidate you choose, it will have an effect on the rest of the world. No matter if you live in the most remote place of the world it's going to effect you.

I agree that the public in general puts to much in the 'power' of the president, however it is still an essential role, even if it is just a puppet-ed act. Figureheads rarely hold true decision making for their perspective position, however they are still highly important.

Yes, people need to put more effort into congressional elections as well though if they wish to see change.
